Meet our research team! Thanks to the work of a passionate student team and the support of our research coordinator Hugo and our nurse Marie-Christine, we are working to better understand the benefits of physical exercise on different aspects of our health as we age.

Isabelle Dionne, PhD

Since 2001

Professor Dionne's research interrests revolve around the impact of exercise on muscle metabolism and physical capacity in older adults.

Eléonor Riesco, PhD

Co-chairholder and Professor at the Faculty of Physical Activity Sciences, University of Sherbrooke.

Since 2011

Professor Riesco's research interests revolve around the management of chronic diseases in older adults through exercise, both at the clinical and fundamental levels.

Depuis 2025

Le professeur Deshayes explore comment le vieillissement influence la capacité du corps à réguler sa température et son hydratation. Ses recherches visent à développer des solutions permettant aux personnes aînées de demeurer actives et en sécurité malgré les défis posés par le réchauffement climatique.

Martin Brochu, PhD

Professor at the Faculty of Physical Activity Sciences, University of Sherbrooke.

Since 2003

Professor Brochu is interested in metabolic diseases associated with obesity, particularly in aging individuals, and the effect of nutrition and exercise on their health.
